For this contest, subtleties specifically designed to represent the grand and glorious Golden 50th Anniversary of Northwoods and its history were presented. Representation of the Saints Martin, Astericus, and Bryce due to their feast days (the days of the celebration) were also fair game.
The subtleties were 100% edible, or what was not was noted, such as armature.
A subtlety or illusion food is an item, made of food materials, designed to look like something else. For example, this nautilus shell is made of sugar paste (modernly gum paste in a can from Joanns.)
